[SFX: Wood scenery panel scrape. Fire extinguisher spray]

NARRATOR: Iris called the rescue like a performance. Sana released the brake, Jon cut the fly rail, and Mabel used Saint Orra's foam sword to break the smoke cabinet. The scenery stopped inches apart.

SANA VALE: Adrian is in the control booth.

IRIS KENT: No. He wants us looking there.

NARRATOR: The booth contained a loop of Adrian's voice. He was beneath the stage, retrieving Julian's original fire cue sheet from a trap room.

[SFX: Large creaking door. Wood stage floor footsteps]

MABEL ROOK: Ten years directing entrances, and he still chooses the obvious exit.

NARRATOR: They cornered him beside the magnet rig. Adrian held the burned cue sheet over a work lamp.

ADRIAN FOX: Theatre is consent to illusion.

IRIS KENT: Not consent to locked exits.

NARRATOR: Iris cut the lamp. Police entered through the loading dock before Adrian could destroy the sheet.
