Ghost Light

[SFX: Empty theater ambience. Light switch click]

NARRATOR: Adrian was charged with murder, attempted murder, and arson-related offenses. The old fire inquiry reopened. The theatre replaced automated hazards with independent safety controls and gave stage management authority to stop any performance.

SANA VALE: They offered me Julian's role in the revival.

IRIS KENT: Do you want it?

SANA VALE: I want a new play.

NARRATOR: Mabel commissioned one about the dresser lost in the fire. Jon designed it without blackout tricks. Iris remained stage manager and wrote every change into a report no director could edit alone.

[SFX: Service bell. Theater audience]

NARRATOR: Before the new opening, Iris placed the ghost light at center stage. It was not haunted. It marked an empty theatre so nobody would step into darkness and pretend the fall was fate. She called places. The company answered one by one, each voice present, each exit unlocked.
