S07E03: The Black Line

Nobody in the case says the word trap at the beginning. Trap is a word people use afterward, when they need the story to sound simpler than it felt while they were walking into it. In this episode, Lu Chen is not simply following time-loop train of guilt; Lu Chen is learning the local grammar of Line 7 after the depot lights shut down. The grammar is made of dispatch static, empty platforms, unnumbered routes, passenger tickets. Each detail seems harmless by itself, but together they create a sentence nobody wanted spoken aloud.
