S09E04: Hidden Floor Plan

The room does not become frightening all at once. It does what guilty rooms do: it offers ordinary details first, then waits for someone patient enough to notice that they have been arranged. In this episode, Wen He is not simply following identity theft through families; Wen He is learning the local grammar of an apartment whose mirrors reveal hidden rooms. The grammar is made of bathroom steam, hollow walls, child drawings, reversed bedrooms. Each detail seems harmless by itself, but together they create a sentence nobody wanted spoken aloud.
