S11E01: The Night Before Opening
Nobody in the case says the word trap at the beginning. Trap is a word people use afterward, when they need the story to sound simpler than it felt while they were walking into it. In this episode, Su Wen is not simply following art-market crimes under restored paint; Su Wen is learning the local grammar of the museum after closing and the private portrait room. The grammar is made of UV light, varnish, provenance labels, children?s drawings under oil paint. Each detail seems harmless by itself, but together they create a sentence nobody wanted spoken aloud.
